‘Unhappy Girl’
I was unhappy with my job and listening to him sing ’Unhappy Girl’ made me realise the words were true – for example, I knew what to do, staying or leaving was in my hands.
And when he sang that ’you’re caught in a prison of your own device’ I just thought, ‘it’s a sign’ - I felt like he was singing to me and we had a connection although ‘we’ was me as an entirety and his recorded voice. But in that moment listening to his voice, my mind was made up and the decision was final.
I never looked back or regretted the choices in my career since then.
I felt released.
